Buying perfume from a screen is guesswork. Buying it in a rush at a counter is how people end up with a bottle they wear twice. A scent that “smells like you” is less about the prettiest bottle and more about skin, season, and when you plan to wear it.
Start with when you want it. A bright citrus mist that works at noon can disappear or turn sharp at night. A heavy amber that feels perfect in winter can be too much in humidity. Decide if you need a daily signature, a weekend scent, or something for evenings.
Then test on skin, not only on paper. Blotters tell you the opening. Your chemistry tells you the rest. Spray, walk away for twenty minutes, and check again after an hour. The dry-down is the perfume you will actually live with.
If you cannot test in person, use discovery sets and travel sprays. One full bottle of the wrong fragrance costs more than five minis of the right direction.
